Week 7

This week we learned about force, weight, and mass. We learned the relationship between weight and mass, that weight is your actual force being pulled by earth and your mass is what your made up of. I feel like when it comes to working out, now that Mr.Abud explaned these concepts, that people should be more inclined to gain mass than weight, becausw weight is just force being pulled down. Id rather be 6"2 and 190 pounds and have more muscle mass than someone that weighs 290 and has the same muscle mass because wight is just more presure being forced on your body, so why would someone want to be heavy? Force comes in all forms: down, up, side to side, pull, push. Wind is a force, rolling a ball is a force. I also learned that objects like to stay in the motion that there in i.e if a ball is stopped, it wants to stay stopped. If it is rolling, it wants to continue rolling. The only reason why objects stop doing what they are doing is due to a force acting upon it. If a ball is rolling, the only thing stopping it will be friction, an object in front of it, or a pushing force like wind. I liked what we learned this week because it applys to everyday use so everything we learned is being reflected in day to day activities.

Week 5

After 5 weeks, im happy to say that i finally understand how the class will run, not that i didnt know before, but now i fully understand. I like the way thr class will be run, it seems more logical than how normal classes are run and i feel that given some time, most if not all people will be on board with it. Through out the week, i was grasping concepts a little better than how i was the prevous week, but after staying after school on thursday with Mr.Abud, i was fully preparied for the assesment on friday, which i felt like i completed flawlessly. We learned about how to put time vs distnace into graph and mathmatical form, using time vs distance and velocity graphs. I took a bunch of pictures but i cant upload them from my phone for some reason so hopefully i'll figure that out soon. The class on thursday went insane, for some reason everyone was just introduced to class physics and wanted to debate on how the class should be taught. All i know is im totally Set on how the class is being run and everyone should get on board or learn how.

Week 4 Reflection

Week 4 was more in depth into physics than any other week. We began to learn more about lessons such as velocity and displacment, both i understood very well by the end of the week. Im not sure if theres any concepts i missed, but we mainly learned about as i said before velocity, which is in a nut shell time vs distance. We did group activities and white boards that helped teach the lesson more in detailed which helped me out greatly. When the teacher uses real world examples to teach a lesson i really helps, like when we were standing in the hallway.

Week 3 Reflection

Through out this week, we began to learn less about the basics of the class and more on physics which what i wanted to see. We didn't have to memorize and download a crazy amount of apps like the week before, so that's a thumbs up. We were working in groups and learning to think and work like a group. Although it was educational to make graphs and such with a group, i was kind of hoping to gain more knowledge from the class on how to perform certain tasks as opposed to having my group work on it. There were a lot of lessons that i feel like should have been taught more in depth before we took an assessment on it, which i obviously didn't do well on. Enough with the bad things, i did learn some lessons. I learned that its easy to plot time vs position on a graph, as well as what a line of best fit is. But, the assessment did ask more complicated questions about plotting a graph that i felt like were not thoroughly taught through out the week. I dont remeber exact examples but their there. I feel like its still too early in the year to talk about things we learned, but next weeks blog would most likely end up alot more thorough. I also feel that im going to learn alot of useful lessons in this class but its going to take time to grasp all the new concepts. Im horrible at math, graphs, and technology. Physics (so far)= math+graphs. But i already talked about all this in the last post.
